Mayor Says Congressman Kagen Will Protect The Middle Class
(WAUPACA, WI). Waupaca Mayor Brian Smith says Steve Kagen is the best person to represent Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District.
“Congressman Kagen has a good track record,” said Mayor Smith. “Steve is interested in what we need in our state like protecting the middle class. He is working for us.”
“I am so grateful for Mayor Smith’s support for my effort to bring about the changes we need in Northeast Wisconsin,” said Kagen. “Working together, we will bring higher-wage jobs back here where they belong, guarantee access to affordable health care for all of us, lower energy prices while becoming energy independent and ending our costly involvement in Iraq’s religious civil war.”
Kagen voted twice against the Wall Street bailout and has brought back $25 million in investments for Northeast Wisconsin. These investments are returning federal tax dollars to our region, improving communities and spurring job creation. He has fought for Wisconsin’s papermakers testifying in front of the International Trade Commission and urging balanced trade deals that ship our values overseas not our jobs.
