Outagamie County Executive Endorses Steve Kagen For Congress

(APPLETON, WI) Outagamie County Executive Toby Paltzer says Steve Kagen is the best person to represent Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District.

Dr. Kagen is running for reelection to Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District.

“I am so grateful for Toby’s support for my effort to bring about the changes we need in Northeast Wisconsin,” said Kagen. “Working together, we will bring higher-wage jobs back here where they belong, guarantee access to affordable health care for all of us, lower energy prices while becoming energy independent and ending our costly involvement in Iraq’s religious civil war.”

Kagen voted twice against the Wall Street bailout and has brought back $25 million in investments for Northeast Wisconsin. These investments are returning federal tax dollars to our region, improving communities and spurring job creation. He has fought for Wisconsin’s papermakers testifying in front of the International Trade Commission and urging balanced trade deals that ship our values overseas not our jobs.

“I am on the side of Wisconsin families and my record proves it. We have it within our reach to bridge the gap between the great nation we are and the even greater nation we can become. Together, we will build a better future for all of us. This November 4th, I respectfully ask you for your vote,” said Kagen.

Congressman Kagen has refused his taxpayer funded health care until the citizens who pay for it have health care of their own. Kagen authored a bill to end discrimination by health insurance companies against pre-existing medical conditions. He supported bills for the continuation of Badgercare, championed legislation to extend health care to uninsured children and fought for affordable prescription drugs for seniors.
