KAGEN WINS REELECTION
(GREEN BAY, WI) Calling on voters to take the next step with him toward positive change, Congressman Steve Kagen, M.D. won reelection in Northeast Wisconsin Tuesday, defeating Republican John Gard for the second straight election to represent Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District.
“People across our district made it abundantly clear tonight. They want us to continue working together to build a better nation for all of us,” Kagen told supporters gathered to celebrate the victory. “Your show of support is strong and clear. You have said, ‘It is a good start. Now, let’s get back to the basics and finish the changes we began in 2006!’”
Kagen, a native of Northeast Wisconsin and successful physician who ran for elected office for the first time in his life in 2006, addressed an overflow crowd of friends, family, and supporters at the Riverside Ballroom in Green Bay Tuesday evening.
“I am more grateful than you will ever know for this strong show of support, and I am energized by the confidence Wisconsin showed at the polls today,” Kagen told the crowd. “Now it’s time to renew the spark, reinvigorate the spirit, and recommit ourselves to the goal of a working majority for positive change. Building a better nation will not be easy - for real change never is - but I have no doubt that together, we will.”
